I used to be an avid knitter, but it was just too hot last summer to sit around with two big needles and big balls of wool. Also, one short dull needle seemed safer than two long sharp pointy ones with a little baby climbing around and getting into everything. So I taught myself crochet. I cannot say I like the effect quite as much - there is something about the smoothness of knitting - but it is a lot of fun to do.I came up with a pouch design that uses a single un-cut strand of yarn. Each pouch owes its uniqueness to the little vintage button I use to keep them closed. These pouches are fantastic for cell phones, cameras and other little electronic devices.
When Fall came around I started making crocheted cuffs with vintage buttons. A little extra warmth around the wrist makes a difference on chilly days.
